Super Mario Brothers

Halloween is probably my favorite holiday....with 4th of July and Christmas being a tie for second. When we started talking about Halloween and costumes about a month ago, Gavin wanted to be Captain Terrific (a superhero from one of the shows the boys love) and Gabe wanted to be President Barack Obama! We did not look too hard for either of those costumes, because within a day or two the boys decided/agreed that they wanted to be Mario and Luigi from the Nintendo game for Halloween this year.
As always, you can find anything on-line, so here they are with their costumes on. The costumes came complete with inflatable chubby bellies and furry mustaches--huge hit with Gabe and Gav! We found the manhole cover at a recent Halloween block party that we went to. (All you Nintendo gamers out there will know exactly why that was a perfect photo opp)! Gabe and Gavin are so excited to trick or treat and I think it's sweet that they want their costumes to compliment each other. Remember Santa and his Elf from last year? We are going to have to work hard to keep outdoing ourselves from year to year!

Jack in the Lantern

Kind of like a Jack in the Box, only with 2 kids inside!! Ha.
The boys fell in love with the jack o lantern shaped bouncy house. They spent most of their time running from one side to the other and screaming joyfully!

Fall Fun

Well, around town this fall we've ridden trains and ponies. Gavin was a little too timid to get on one, but Gabe was decked out in the whole outfit and totally ready to ride. He even paid the man the $5 for his pony ride. He was so proud of himself. Even if that hat did fly off more times than I can count in the breeze....it was worth it to Gabe.

Splash fight

Gabe and Gavin love the tub. Really love the tub. They constantly invent new games to play, practice swimming, and otherwise find activities that they don't want to stop when it's time to get out. The most recent game is 'Reverse Splash Fight', which I thought the world needed to see.

Back to the pumpkin patch

We went back to the pumpkin patch recently, and it never ceases to amaze me how crowded that place gets on weekends in October. Thousands of people, ourselves included. We went on a day that followed the boys having the flu, so they were in a great mood getting there, but soon after arriving they started running down and wanted to go home. But at least I got a few good pictures before we left.

Captain Terrific

The boys have been watching a show on the Disney Channel called 'Imagination Movers'. One of the episodes featured a superhero called 'Captain Terrific' who had a problem. He couldn't fly anymore. Perhaps it is because superheroes are cool, but for whatever reason Gavin LOVED Captain Terrific. So much so that he walked around for days saying the Captain's catchphrase:
