Bye Bye, Diapers!

Bye Bye, Diapers....Hello, Big Boy underwear!

Gabe is so into toilet training. He actually asked to sit on the big potty and went poop for the first time. We were so thrilled. Mommy did a "potty dance" and we called everyone he could think of to tell them the good news.

He is doing pretty well with telling us when he has "poop, change it" but it's often after it happens. He likes to "sit big potty" and he likes the pull-up pants more now than he did at first.

We went out today to get him a reward for going to the toilet and he picked out a weeks worth of Elmo underwear. They are so cute and he thinks he's so big while wearing them. He asks for them all of the time and cries if he doesn't get to wear them. He's growing up so fast. Maybe we'll have this down sooner rather than later! Sure would help Mommy alot if he was potty trained! We'll have to work on our routine a bit more. Wish us luck!

'Head hurt...'

Not too long ago, Gabe discovered that he can elicit sympathy from Jules or I when he is hurt.

So, naturally, he has begun trying to hurt himself intentionally for attention.

It started simply. We would be having dinner and attention would be on Gavin. So Gabe would kick the table with his bare foot and say 'Foot. Hurt.' And stick it out for loving ministrations. Or he would fling his head back and whack it against his chair, again following it up with 'Head. Hurt.' He'd get a kiss on the affected area and he'd tell you 'All better'.

Well, now he's gone bats%!t crazy. Now, when he feels like he isn't getting attention, well, see for yourself. I think he's going to become a 'cutter'. Or a stuntman. Either way, all I can do is laugh...

Backyard fun

Soon enough, the backyard will be a summer playground of fun. A little pool, the sandbox, and two crazy boys are all you need. Oh, that and a willingness to eat sand.

A day at the park

We took the boys to a park near the house and put them on the swings. Gabe is a daredevil, and likes swinging as high as you can push him. Gavin? Gavin just wants to chew on the seat.

It won't be long before they're both swinging away...

Beach Vacation

We took the boys down to the beach for a week and had a great time. Gabe didn't like the sand or water when we first got there, probably because he got sand and salt water in his eyes within minutes of arriving on the beach for the first time. But once he saw his friend Seth running and playing, he got over it quickly and had a blast for the rest of the week.

All Gavin wanted to do was eat sand...

Future Art Major

Gabe likes to color. I mean really likes to color. Crayons, watercolors, finger paints...the medium is irrelevant. Gabe just wants to color. One of these days, he's actually going to color in the lines or actually draw something and I think it will be sooner rather than later.
