Mickey Mouse Clubhouse

Every now and then, something new enters into the picture and completely captures the boys' attention. Recently, the conversation has been about Gavin's upcoming birthday and possible themes/ideas for it. I had thought that a Blue's Clues party was a good idea, since Gavin loves him some Blue's Clues.

Enter Mickey Mouse Clubhouse.

The boys are suddenly obsessed. It is all they want to watch. They sing the songs. They know the characters. They are now goofy for Goofy. Here is a video of them singing along with the intro of the show.

I guess we know what the theme of the party will be this year.

Father's Day photos

So I realized it has been a while since we went and visited the photo
studio. Therefore, today we celebrated Father's Day with a photo shoot.

The boys had a blast, hamming it up for the camera, and we got a ton
of good pictures. As I was putting some of them up this afternoon, I
was taking down the older pictures and wondering where all the time
has gone.

Somehow, I bet my Dad wonders the same thing.

Summer is here

Well, it must be summer. The mercury is hitting north of ninety every day, and the best place to try and get some relief is at the pool. The boys are psuedo-swimming, i.e. dog paddling and crawling on the bottom, with the very best of them. And all they ever seem to want to do is go for a swim.

Time to go put on some sunscreen, I guess...

Back to normal

Well, it took about five days, but Gavin seems to have fully recovered from his surgery. He isn't complaining about pain, his appetite is strong, and he has plenty of energy. Good news all the way around.

This weekend, we played baseball and soccer, played with the neighbors, rode bikes and went swimming. And Gavin was in the thick of all of it. And breathing through his nose the whole time...

Whenever Gavin comes back after being apart from Wilbur, he has to spend a little quality time with his puppy.

Tonight, he joined Wilbur in Wilbur's beanbag bed for a good half-hour of spooning.

I think Gavin might grow up to be a vet or a horse whisperer or something. Just a hunch...

Swimtime

While Gavin has been suffering through his post-surgery recuperation, Gabe has basically been living it up at Camp Daddy. He has been playing video games on the Wii, playing on the playground, and (as seen here) going swimming.

It is going to be a hot summer, and that pool sure is refreshing. I guess it might be time for actual swim lessons soon.

Footloose and Adenoid free

Surgery was a success. Gavin came out just fine and with no complications.

The kid's a trooper, that's for sure.
