Bike Rides

The boys are really into riding their bikes these days. It's been so chilly that we have not been able to get out and do it too much, but last weekend we went to a local park with a nice bike trail. They shock me when we do get to go out and ride....because they do so well. I know by spring/summer, they'll be pros.

Gavin has figured out how to pedal himself and Gabe is mastering the use of the foot brakes. It's so exciting to them. They are still leary of falling over, but both have helmets and elbow/knee pads to wear so, they'll be fine. They don't like hills or speed much yet, but all in due time, I'm sure....they are boys after all.

Little helper

The other night, I was doing laundry and trying to get the boys ready for bed. I had a basket of unfolded laundry sitting in the living room that I intended to fold as soon as the boys went to sleep. They were sitting peacefully in the living room, reading books...or so I thought.

I walk into the living room to find Gavin folding my clothes and putting them in piles the way he has seen me do it. I can't do it justice with a description, so you should just watch the video now.

Future Rock Star

Gabe loves his guitar. I mean, really loves his guitar. He plays it every night. When music is on, he rocks out in unison to the song. When it is bedtime, he serenades Gavin with an original "Good Night" song that changes every night.

They say that kids aren't ready for guitar lessons until they turn six or so. I think we might have to find a teacher that is willing to consider a younger student before too much longer.

Big boy baths

Up until very recently, when I would get the boys out of the tub we had a very specific routine. I would get them out, drape the towel over their head, and play a silly game of some sort as I dried them off. Then dress them and we are done.

Well, recently, Gabe decided that he wanted to have the towel wrapped around his waist and walk around like that. I guess he has seen me do it enough, he thinks it is what he should be doing. And, if Gabe does something, Gavin has to do it as well.
This picture was taken last night after their bath. What will they think of next?
