Taking Pictures

A few days ago, the boys and I decided to play around and take some pictures. We tried a variety of different poses and basically just used the whole exercise as an excuse to be silly. It was a ton of fun, and we actually did get a few good pictures out of it, like the one above.

But the absolute best part of the whole thing happened two days later when Gabe asked, 'Daddy, can we take more family pictures?'

Brohawks

Tonight the boys wanted to make funny hair, so I gave each of them a mohawk. They had a blast looking at each other and themselves (in the mirror).

It won't be long before they are rebelling against authority and wanting crazy haircuts for real. At that point, I will just show them this picture...

Easter haul

We did an Easter egg hunt around the house, and they boys really got into finding the eggs. And, since they are a little older, the hiding places could be a bit more sophisticated than 'on the ground'. And, of course, once the hunt was over, it was time to divide the loot.

It was really interesting to try and find things to put in the eggs other than candy. At their age, I am really trying to control their candy intake, but filling an egg with marshmellows or animal crackers almost seems criminal. They were okay with it, but the jelly beans and M&Ms were definitely the highlight.

Reading at bedtime

The boys love to read. Gabe has been reading for almost a year now, so he tears through the kiddie books like candy. Gavin looks at the pictures and makes up his own stories. Both of which are adorable to witness. Then they exchange books and do it all over again. We wrap things up with me reading a story to them. It won't be long until Gabe is ready for longer stories I think.

I guess he really had to go...

April Fools. No, that's not pee.

You may recall that the boys have these things called "Color dots". They are blue, red, and yellow pellets that change the color of the bath water. Well, when given a choice, the boys always pick the red and blue dots. So, in the end, all of the yellow dots haven't been used.

So tonight we dropped twelve yellow color dots into the tub. The result is what you would have expected.
