Zoo Trip

We went to ZooAtlanta the week of Thanksgiving vacation (using our public library cards to get us in free). Gabe loved seeing all of the animals; he named the flamingos, meerkats, gorillas, mole rats, and giant pandas. He was even able to read many of the signs. Here he is pointing to show Mommy, "China", at the panda exhibit. Gavin liked all of the busy things to do; like children's playground, train ride, climbing equipment, and animal statues to sit on. Here he is riding a giraffe. It was a chilly day, but we bundled up, walked and saw it all. We even got a ZooAtlanta ornament for our Christmas Tree. Happy Turkey Day to all!

Playing Choo Choo

Gabe and Gavin received a box in the mail this week and although they were crazy about the contents of the box (gifts for them from FL) they loved the box just as much! Here they are sitting in the box together yelling "choo choo" and pretending they are on a train ride.

POP Goes the Wiggles LIVE!!!!

Last Sunday, we took the kids to see the Wiggles LIVE on their US tour, in the newest arena in Atlanta. The boys were so excited they couldn't even nap that day. Gabe finally got to see his IDOLS up close and in the flesh! He was thrilled beyond words. I have to admit, Mommy and Daddy were even a bit *star struck* after all of the DVD's we've seen and song lyrics we've learned over the past 2 yrs. I'm sure you know how it is when you have a child who is totally obsessed with a show or character!

We had great seats and were so close to the stage in our floor seats that one of the Wiggles read Gabe and Gavin's names from a sign I created. Gabe was able to see all of his favorites, espcecially Murray on guitar and Anthony on the drums. The Wiggles came down off the stage, singing and waving throughout the audience. Gabe saw his favorite Wiggle dancer, Katarina, whom he says is "beau-tee-ful". He even handed roses to Dorothy the Dinosaur and we took a bone for Wags the Dog, but ended up giving it to Wilbur at home! It was a jam packed 60 minutes of FUN!

Gabe and Gavin had a blast dancing and singing along with songs they know by heart. Gabe liked yelling "Wake up Jeff" throughout the production when the Wiggle who constantly falls asleep on stage needed to be awakened.

Guess we will have to watch more DVD's while we wait until the Wiggles come to town again!!!

Showing our support

Every year, the 3-day breast cancer walk takes place during the last weekend in October. The route goes right by our house, so it is hard to miss. This year, the boys and I went to show our support for the walkers with lots of smiles and waves. The walkers liked the cheering, and the boys surely loved the attention.

Next year we'll be out again. Maybe that time we'll pass out water and lemonade.

Ride 'Em Cowboy!

Gabe and Gavin were invited to a birthday party for a classmate of Gabe's last weekend, so we went to the polo club to see what it would be all about. It was a cowboy themed party complete with horse invitations, a horse cake, cowboy boot shaped balloons, a horse pinata, a petting zoo, and PONY RIDES!!!

Gabe loved it and rode his first ever pony! He donned the riding helmet right away and went over to wait his turn in line among friends. When it was his turn, I put him up in the saddle and showed him where to hang on and off he went. He waved to me from across the corral and he talked the pony walker's ear off. The pony's name was POKEY and Gabe was so proud of riding her.

I will say, it was somewhat difficult to snap good pictures because just as much as Gabe loved it...Gavin wanted nothing to do with it. No horse petting, no feeding carrots, no brushing the pony, and certainly not riding. He really didn't want Gabe to ride or for me to stand too close. Gavin had no desire to put on the helmet either when Gabe offered him a turn.

But Gabe, was a natural cowboy! Yeehaw! Great party!

Merry Happy Hallowmas

Yes, we're a bit confused at the holidays this year....Gabe is so obsessed with Christmas-time that he asked to be Santa for Halloween. That left Gavin with the adorable elf costume choice. They were a big hit with all of the children and neighbors. And, Gabe and Gavin were the most unique in their school costume parade, full of Batmen and cowboys.
Wishing you lots of treats, a HoHoHo, (and only a few tricks).
