Christmas Eve- A New Tradition
Tonight was Christmas Eve and we decided to watch The Polar Express with Baby Gabe in preparation for his very first Christmas. He LOVES music and was especially attentive when there was singing going on. Here he is standing up in his play yard in our living room, looking at the kids on screen in High Definition. He really seemed to enjoy the movie (it is EXCELLENT, if you haven't seen it), but just like Mommy usually does, he fell asleep before the movie was over. It was past his bedtime, after all.
We'll see what Santa brings in the Morning. Merrry Christmas to all and To all a Good Night!!

Funny Face
Gabe loves to eat and is really getting alot better at grabbing finger foods with his "pincer grasp" (that's the special ed. teacher in me speaking about thumb and first finger use for picking small things up) to feed himself. He likes Cheerios, Goldfish, and biter biscuits. He also eats Zweiback toast and graham crackers without any help. He acts like such a big boy in his high chair.
Because I am the Mommy, I am supposed to help his with his table manners and worry and fret about him choking at every meal, so I am always telling him not to put so many things into his mouth at once and to make sure to "chew it up." I find myself making my lips smack and making funny chewing sounds at him and he just wrinkles up his face and giggles at me. I have been trying my damnedest to catch this look on film and finally got it!
By the way he now has 4 teeth across the top and the bottom 2 in front that you can see here--right next to the Goldfish crackers he is mashing around in there.

Busting Out...Or Not!
So we are gradually "babyproofing" around the house more and more and Gabe is a smart little cookie. He enjoys playing with his toys and crawling around the room as long as he can see one of the parental units, but once we are in another room or out of sight, he either A. crawls to try to follow us, or B. gets frustrated and cries loudly until we return to his sight.
This time, I was busy around the house and he was playing in his room and listening to music until he realized I wasn't in the rocking chair near him anymore. He then crawled over and pulled up on the gate in his bedroom door looking for me and crying out until he could no longer ward off the sandman!
I couldn't resist a quick snapshot to show Daddy the adorable sleeping baby, but when Gabe awoke I sure was in trouble for not being right there!
Must.. find.. Mommy, zzzzzzzzzzzz

A taste of Christmas
We went and took Christmas pictures yesterday at the local studio where we have been getting Gabe's pictures taken for the last nine months. This session was dual purpose: his nine month photos and his first Christmas pictures. Leave it to Gabe to ham it up for the camera.

Look at me! I'm 21!
21 lbs that is.
Gabe went to the doctor for his latest wellness check, and is 21lbs, 11ozs. He's just a baby, so it's understandable that he is a bit confused about the difference between age & weight. Before we knew it, he was going for the booze!
Thank goodness he hasn't figured out how to open bottles yet.
"Think this will help with the teething?"
