Say "Ahhh"

As some of you might know, Gavin has had problems with breathing through his nose, drooling, and snoring. We took him to an ENT specialist who said his adenoids are too big for his tiny little head and should be removed.

Well, tomorrow is the day. For the first time, one of the boys is having surgery. It should be routine, but, boy, I sure do hate the idea of a two-year-old having surgery even if it is "routine".

Paint

Here are a couple of truths about my boys. They love to paint, draw, color, or otherwise be artistic. They also love to make a mess. So, naturally, painting involved both. What started as a straightforward putting of paint onto paper with a brush became fingerpainting. Which then became putting handprints on paper. Which then became painting themselves.

Thank God for big tarps...

Gavin Singing, part deux

These boys are both very musical. They love to play instruments and they sing all the time. Gabe and I will often have entire conversations in sing-song. This morning, Gavin was puttering around and singing to himself, so of course I had to share it.

Gestalt

This picture is just too funny to not post. The boys were so excited about swimming that they have taken to wearing their goggles at random times. They loved taking the picture with their heads in their hands so much that they will now strike that pose at random times. Add the two together and voila...

Improvising

Earlier today, the boys and I planned on going swimming. We had prepared for it all day, even going so far as to go and buy new goggles earlier in the day. They were so excited to go swimming that they put on their goggles as soon as we bought them and didn't take them off for hours.

With that level of anticipation, you just know something had to wrong.

We got to the gym to swim in the indoor pool, and they turned us away because of the fear of lightning. We couldn't swim, in an indoor pool, because it was raining. Go figure. And, of course, the boys really didn't understand why they weren't allowed to swim.

To make it so the entire afternoon wasn't a complete waste, we came home and decided to swim in the bathtub, goggles and all. Turns out we didn't need the pool after all.
