Improvising

Earlier today, the boys and I planned on going swimming. We had prepared for it all day, even going so far as to go and buy new goggles earlier in the day. They were so excited to go swimming that they put on their goggles as soon as we bought them and didn't take them off for hours.

With that level of anticipation, you just know something had to wrong.

We got to the gym to swim in the indoor pool, and they turned us away because of the fear of lightning. We couldn't swim, in an indoor pool, because it was raining. Go figure. And, of course, the boys really didn't understand why they weren't allowed to swim.

To make it so the entire afternoon wasn't a complete waste, we came home and decided to swim in the bathtub, goggles and all. Turns out we didn't need the pool after all.
