Everybody Potty

Gavin is a quick study and is picking up this pottying thing really well. He is still not talking in words and sentences but he knows his stuff and can indicate when he wants to sit on the potty. If we don't get him to a toilet quickly, he knows how to pull his pants down. Sometimes we luck out and get him to go in the potty in time, but other times, he's already gone in his diaper.....betcha it won't be long. Gabe is a great example.

Funny Guy

Most of you probably already know that Gabe says funny things all the time. He is starting to read sight words and he recognizes and says new things often....only sometimes, he simply doesn't take time to read the WHOLE word. Today he had me in stiches over a few new examples of this habit. We went to Target (which he knows by the red bullseye) and we rode past Taco Bell...so he began singing "Tinke Bells, Tinkle Bells, Tinkle all the way!" Then, as we went a few more miles, he saw Bed, Bath and Beyond and told me he went there with his Daddy. He also says he, Gavin and Daddy visited "Homedy Domedy," which I assume is some wickedly distorted 3 yr. old version of Home Depot meets Humpty Dumpty!! I was in tears laughing at this. He also asked if the man with the blue shirt worked at "Best Bear," which in all reality was Best Buy. And he asked me a common phrase "what's this called about" referring to the piece of jewelry that I wear around my neck. When I told him it was called a necklace, he asked if it was just like the boy in his class.....No sweetie, that's Nicholas! What a kid. He's really a hoot. I'm so pleased that he's reading and generalizing all of these new things, but I wish he'd slow down a little and take his time.

Kids eat...fire

We went to IHOP for breakfast, and Gabe kept saying, "Kids eat fire! Kids eat fire!". For the life of me, I couldn't figure out why he was saying that (the sign read differently from my side). I asked him where he saw that, and he pointed to the sign on the table.

I asked him to hold the sign for a picture, and he held it above his head and started saying, "Ten. Ten. Ten". It seems he plans to be a judge in the Olympics as well...

Daredevils

The boys and I went to visit some old friends today, and the G's met some new friends.

And got introduced to some new games...

They did bucket racing, lightsaber fighting, and learned to play tag. It was a good night.

Hat-wearing dog

Gabe and Gavin started putting hats on Wilbur this weekend.

I'll let the picture speak for itself...
