Christmas Castle

For Christmas, Grandpa Owen got the boys an inflatable jumpy castle, similar to the ones that they like at Monkey Joe's or Parties on Air. They couldn't wait to play on it, so it had to be quickly set up so the jumping could commence. The video speaks for itself.

Choo-choo, Chugga-chugga

Gavin has always liked toy trains. Gabe likes them a little, but Gavin has the patience to sit and watch them go, where Gabe likes to push them around himself. Well, after going to the Polar Express, the boys wanted to play with their Brio trains. Sure enough, as soon as the track was built, Gabe lost interest. But Gavin sat down for a spell, wearing his fashionable new Engineer's cap.

When he puts it on, he will frequently yell out, 'All aboard.' and 'Woo woo'. Just adorable.

Peek-a-boo

The boys love playing peek-a-boo, and try to find new ways to play no matter where we are. Today, they were pulling their hats down over their faces and singing a little peek-a-boo song to each other.

At least they aren't afraid of the dark...

Dog + Boy

There is no doubt that Gavin loves Wilbur. In fact, I think Wilbur might not be "our" dog, but Gavin's. He can't get enough puppy love, and Wilbur just eats it up.

A Very Preschool Christmas

From 2008-12-24 Around Christmas

The boys had their Christmas shows at school tonight. Both of the boys' classes sang Christmas carols and danced around in semi-choreographed routines. The picture above is Gavin in his 'Frosty the Snowman' tophat. Very dashing...

Out for a Sunday drive

It's been alternating warm and cold here in December, and the boys have wanted to play outside no matter what the weather. It was a nice night after school, and so the boys decided to take their Jeep out for a spin.

Creature from the Black Lagoon

Gabe has a Blue's Clues bath toy, as seen in the picture. They also have these cool little things called 'Color Dots', which are little fizzy things that turn the water blue, yellow, or red. Both are kept on a little shower rack just out of their reach.

Or so I thought.

Gabe decided he wanted Blue. So he jumped for it and dislodged the color dots in the process. So the boys opened the jar and dumped them all in. All color dots in a jar = black water.

Strangely (or not so strangely), they loved it.

Oh Christmas Tree!

The boys are SO anxious for Christmas this year! They can't wait to leave milk and cookies out for Santa and sprinkle reindeer food on the front lawn! They've made ornaments, decorated our tree, sat on Santa's knee, mailed out holiday cards, eaten advent calendar chocolates, hung up stockings, read Christmas stories and sang carols, NOW....all they have to do, is WAIT.

At ages 2 and 3.....that's exactly the part of Christmas-time that is sheer torture!!!!

Face Paint

A few weeks back we went to an outdoor reading festival, and the boys had their faces painted for the very first time. I guess they both liked it a whole bunch, because this weekend, when I opened some new "paint pens" Gabe got the bright idea to try his hand at clowning! He painted a spider on Gavin's face. Very artistic! And Gavin let him. HA!
I was laughing so hard, I couldn't even speak to him about writing on paper, instead of his brother!
